Speakers

Beth Rose, CAI, AARE

2016 International Auctioneer Women’s Champion of the National Auctioneers Association

Biography: Beth Rose is currently the 2016 Women’s International Auctioneer Champion and won the 2016 National Auction Marketing Campaign of the Year. She was the 2001 recipient of the Rose Award from CAI, the 2016 Florida State Auctioneer Champion and the 2009 Michigan Auctioneer Champion. Beth served on the board for the Michigan Auctioneers Association and teaches real estate and marketing for the Ohio Auction School. She conducts auctions in Ohio, Michigan and Florida. She is a second-generation auctioneer and is considered one of the top Realtors in her area. She has been conducting single-family and commercial real estate auctions for 30 years. She has won numerous awards in real estate and marketing. She has one daughter, Sara Rose, and three sisters, that are all auctioneers. Beth is actively involved in her own non-profit organization called Blessings in Disguise, where she is the board president.

Philip Gableman, CAI, ATS, GPPA

Education Institute Trustee of the National Auctioneers Association

Biography: Phil is a professional auctioneer with Absolute Auctions & Realty, Inc. of Pleasant Valley, NY, helping serve clients in the New York, New Jersey, and New England regions. He is a graduate of Texas Auction Academy in Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas, holds an Associate Degree in Business Administration from Dutchess Community College in Poughkeepsie, NY, and Bachelor Degree in Business Management and Marketing from Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY. After getting his start in live auctions in 2006, his high school sweetheart, Jennifer Mensler, and the entire AAR team embraced online auctions. They quickly scaled and adapted their operations to conduct over 400 online auctions a year, while still conducting live auctions for specific asset and client types. He is a current board member of the New York Auctioneers Association and an active member of the NAA.

A 60-90 minute interactive class on evolving your business including, but not limited to, topics such as software, apps, staffing and different methods to work effectively and efficiently.

Ailie Byers, CAI, AMM, BAS

2016 International Auctioneer Women’s Champion of the National Auctioneers Association

Biography: Ailie is Vice President of Centennial Auctions. Centennial was established over twenty years ago to provide numismatic and philatelic auction services. It is a division of Scofield Auctions, and Centennial sells more coins and stamps at auction in New England than any other firm and has been doing so for over 20 years.

She has attended the American Numismatic Association’s (ANA) Summer Session the past three summers and is the auctioneer for the two Young Numismatists Fun Auctions at Summer Session in Colorado Springs.

Ailie, alongside Steve Schofield, is part of the two-person auction team for Centennial.

Ailie serves as the President of the New Hampshire State Auctioneers Association Board of Directors. She is involved with the National Auctioneers Association (NAA) both in planning and developing educational content for members.

Topic: Appraisers and Auctioneers: How to handle that coin collection!
Ailie has all the information you need to know about how to handle a coin collection as an appraiser or an auctioneer. She will teach you the particulars about markings and unique defects that make a world of difference in value, as well as how NOT to handle coins.
